Benchmark’s Best: Chai Bavongkhoun, Service Supervisor

In-depth technical and fintech experiences as well as an incredible work ethic make our Service Team stand-out. One woman encompasses all of these aspects as Service Supervisor, Chai Bavongkhoun. She is an essential part of keeping our refurbished or AUR devices in great condition and at the highest standard. 

​What do you do in your job?
As Service Supervisor, Chai focuses on quality assurance, monitoring progress and helping technicians. With machines either being refurbished or repaired, you need an extensive knowledge of the technical side of fintech devices. Chai has a wide scope when it comes to devices but also technical skills. With this expertise, she has to provide quality assurance on each device. She also keeps her technicians organized and efficient. She works to make sure that repairs and a high-quality device are all completed in a timely fashion. She is truly a guide to her Technicians because she has been in their exact spot. 
 
How long has Chai worked for Benchmark?
Chai is able to work with such empathy and understanding because she was a Technician at Benchmark for a decade. She rose to her new role as Service Supervisor in the past few years and has had such a positive impact on her team and Benchmark customers. Coming from the Pacific Northwest, she made her way down to the South with her husband. She has had experience in the automotive industry and has been such a valuable addition to the Benchmark team. 
 
Success Story
Helping Benchmark customers through technical challenges has brought many moments of joy to Chai. The customer’s happiness is Chai's happiness. During her Technician years, she was helping a customer with a printer. Her customer was very frustrated, but Chai knew exactly what to do to fix the issue. Chai walked this customer step by step through the process to get the printer up and running. Finally, they were able to resolve the issue and even ran a test to verify that the device worked. Chai could hear her customer’s voice brighten and could hear the relief and peace that the customer felt even through the phone. Chai is the embodiment of the high customer service standards that is a priority for Benchmark.
 
Hobbies outside of work?
With the last bit of summer, Chai likes to take nature walks with her family. She enjoys hiking and seeing natural wonders. She enjoys hiking on a few nearby trails but also loves hiking near waterfalls and has visited waterfall hiking trails in the Atlanta area. She also loves a shopping excursion. She and her family like shopping in the Buckhead area. I bet she knows where the best deals in Buckhead are!
 
Favorite Food?
With the social distancing measures in place, staying home and cooking has been the norm. Chai and her family have been cooking much more lately, and she has been missing visiting her favorite restaurants around town. She enjoys a variety of cuisines including Asian, French and Italian. Some of her favorite dishes are Vietnamese Pho, Thai Curry, and even a Papaya Salad dish from Hawaii! One of her favorite French restaurants is La Belle in Suwannee, GA.
 
What are you watching these days?
Chai enjoys all different forms of entertainment. She enjoys both watching TV and listening to music. Typically, she enjoys local and national news but when she wants to relax, she will put on some music. Her favorite music are tunes from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Currently, her favorite jam is Have You Ever Seen The Rain by Creedence Clearwater Revival.
